Snarry Games Fic: Play the Game, NC-17 - Details on those Warnings

I posted this on my own LJ, but because of a C&D I received in another fandom, I've had to flock that LJ.

So in case you weren't able to see this post over there, I thought I'd also post it  here unlocked.

~*~

Because even with warnings, or especially because of them, it can be difficult to decide to read my Snarry Games fic or not.

So for those who are on the fence and would like some more details about why those warnings are there, I thought I'd make this post.

I'll do my best to not say any spoilers, but basically this is the plot and why there are those warnings.

There is a series of Polaroids by Robert Maplethorpe called Charles and Jim – my icon is one of them – which depict a naked young man and a naked older man in a bare room with only a mattress on the floor.  This fic was inspired by those photos:

What if the young man was never allowed to leave that room?  What if he was a sex slave, and the older man was a client who fell in love with him and wanted to rescue him?

Harry became the young man, and Severus became the older one. And this fic was born.

Harry is an Auror.  He's investigating a series of Muggle kidnappings.  The Muggles are being taken to a sex club for wizards, but Harry doesn't know where because the club is under the Fidelius charm.

Harry almost manages to capture the kidnapper as he's taking the next victim, but the kidnapper gets away.  The kidnapper later abducts Harry, 'takes' Harry's magic (I won't say how), and keeps Harry in the sex club.

Many of the warnings are due to what the wizards do to the Muggle 'workers' in the sex club – think of it as a Death Eater orgy.  Because of magic, many of the injuries which would be fatal are able to be healed.  The wizards are very sadistic, although their acts are mostly described during a conversation between the bartender at the club and one of the wizards – breathplay, sharp object penetration, and bloodplay incidents.

Harry is also used by the wizards in the sex club - those incidents include orgasm denial, bondage, spanking, whipping, knife/bloodplay, needleplay, and breathplay, along with the use of gags, blindfolds, cockrings, butt plugs, nipple clamps, and handcuffs/manacles.  There is a spell that I created that mimics the bites of mosquitoes, and the kidnapper uses that to torture Harry.

The kidnapper uses a pattern of hurt/comfort to try and break Harry down.

Towards the end, there are two incidents of torture that may be too extreme for some readers.  One is the use of a plant with thorns, wrapping around Harry.  The second is waxplay, but with 'magical' wax that burns hotter than normal wax.

The point of all of this is to show several things, but most of all it's to emphasize Harry's strength, both physically and mentally – no matter what is done to him, he won't give up. It comes close at times, but he has faith in his friends that they will find him. When the chance for escape come, he doesn't forget about the Muggle captives.

The story is a mystery – who is the kidnapper, and why does he hate Harry so much? The secondary story is Draco/Harry, and then Snape's acceptance of his feelings for Harry in light of Harry's disappearance.

The reason I won't say there is a 'happy' ending is that I won't gloss over the fact that I think Harry will need extensive counseling to help him deal with what he's been through.  But Severus and Draco both pledge to support and love Harry, no matter how long it takes for him to heal.  I think it ends on a hopeful note.

That's about as much as I can think of to say about the warnings.  I certainly understand that the story isn't for everyone, and I'm not going to be upset if someone chooses to not read it.  I don't want anyone to ever push themselves to read something that would make them feel uncomfortable just because it's one of my stories.

On the other hand, if you read it and enjoy it, I hope you'll leave a comment and vote.
